SHRM Educational Programs

The College of Charleston has partnered with SHRM® (Society for Human Resource Management), a globally-recognized HR professional organization, to offer two courses in the SHRM® Educational Program series.


SHRM Learning System® for SHRM-CPSM and SHRM-SCPSM

Date: June 2 – 5, 2020

This 4-Day Intensive Course/Study Group is designed for those that wish to combine self-study using the SHRM Learning System with some facilitated and structured guidance from a SHRM-certified Instructor to help them prepare and pass the challenging Certification exam. The SHRM-certified instructor will facilitate a review of the current SHRM Body of Competency and Knowledge (BoCK) and help you identify your areas of strength as well as areas in which you’ll need further concentrated study in preparation for either certification exam. SHRM Essentials of Human Resources

Date: April 23 – 24, 2020

This course covers general HR knowledge, skills, and competencies – in a condensed, easy-to-comprehend format. This course is recommended for a range of individuals, including entry-level HR professionals, and small business owners with HR responsibilities. Learn more.

Instructor

Karen Clark has held leadership positions with multiple organizations, including Senior Vice-President of CBIZ, a national professional services firm, and Executive Vice-President of Benicor Associates, a professional services firm. She currently serves as the U.S. Director of Business Development and Relationship Management for Contacts Count, LLC - an international training company - where she helps organizations to develop engaged and collaborative business development cultures. Clark also sits on the board of the TCHRMA.

Clark holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland, as well as both SHRM-SCP and SPHR certification. She is also part of a nationally-recognized team of Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) Learning System instructors.
