SHRM Educational Programs

The College of Charleston has partnered with SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management), a globally-recognized HR professional organization, to offer two courses in the SHRM Educational Program series.

SHRM Learning System® for SHRM-CPSM and SHRM-SCPSM

Date: September 20 - December 13, 2018

This course is designed primarily as certification preparation for SHRM’s Certified Professional (CP) and Senior Certified Professional (SCP) examinations. This course is ideally suited for professionals who have worked in human resource positions for at least two years.

SHRM Essentials of Human Resources

Date: April 25-26, 2019

This course covers general HR knowledge, skills, and competencies - in a condensed, easy-to-comprehend format. This course is recommended for a range of individuals, including entry-level HR professionals, and small business owners with HR responsibilities.

Karen Clark has held leadership positions with multiple organizations, including Senior Vice-President of CBIZ, a national professional services firm, and Executive Vice-President of Benicor Associates, a professional services firm. She currently serves as the U.S. Director of Business Development and Relationship Management for Contacts Count, LLC - an international training company - where she helps organizations to develop engaged and collaborative business development cultures. Clark also sits on the board of the TCHRMA.

Clark holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland, as well as both SHRM-SCP and SPHR certification. She is also part of a nationally-recognized team of Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) Learning System instructors.
