 Instructors

Brian BrownBrian Brown is a Financial Advisor with Commonwealth Financial Group, and is based in Myrtle Beach, SC. Brown received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Carolina.  He then obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the Charleston School of Law and is currently a member of the South Carolina Bar.  Brown holds FINRA series 7 and 66 registrations as well as life, accident and health insurance licenses.  He teaches the Retirement Planning Today Class at HGTC and CofC and lectures on various financial topics at MUSC.

 

Britt Gilbert is President and CEO of Commonwealth Financial Group, an independent financial services firm headquartered in Charleston, SC.  Gilbert, who founded Commonwealth in 2001, specializes in consulting with clients and associates of CFG on business continuation strategies, estate planning and executive compensation strategies.  Gilbert earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Finance from the College of Charleston, and is a Registered Representative and an Investment Advisor Representative of Securian Financial Services, Inc.  His industry background and involvement also includes FINRA series 7, series 6, series 63, series 65, and series 24 examinations, as well as membership in the Financial Planning Association, and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.

Nick PaviaNick Pavia is a Financial Advisor with Commonwealth Financial Group in Charleston, SC.  He specializes in helping individuals and families reach their specific financial goals.  Pavia received a Bachelor of Science from the College of Charleston and holds FINRA series 7, 6, 63, 65 registrations and life, accident, and health insurance licenses.  Pavia teaches the Retirement Planning Today Class at HGTC and CofC and also speaks at MUSC, USC School of Medicine, and Palmetto Health on various financial topics.  He also enjoys giving back to the community by participating in programs such as Palmetto Medical Initiative and Commonwealth Cares.

 

Todd Turner is financial advisor with Commonwealth Financial Group in Charleston, SC.   Turner specializes in the medical industry, and understands the many challenges facing health care professionals..  Turner co-founded the New York State Pain Society in 2011 and has served as Chairman of the Industry Advisory Counsel to the Board of Directors since the inception.  In addition to serving the needs of his physician clients, Turner enjoys working with executives, professionals, and families, providing access to a wide range of competitive financial products and services.  Turner received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Bucknell University.  He is a Registered Representative and Investment Advisory Representative of Securian Financial Services, Inc.  His educational and industry background also includes FINRA series 7 and 66 registrations, as well as life, accident and health insurance licenses.
