combatThe College of Charleston currently serves approximately 100 military veterans, most of whom are non-traditional students. In an effort to meet the unique needs of these students – and to improve the resources and services available to veterans – the CofC has partnered with the Palmetto Warrior Connection to establish the Veteran and Military Student Service Center. The Center, a part of the Office of Academic Experience, will be overseen by Jessica McMahon, a former combat videographer with the US Air Force. McMahon was recently interviewed by The College Today blog, and shared sample video footage from her deployment in Iraq.

On Veteran’s Day – November 11th – the CofC and the Palmetto Warrior Center will be co-hosting an event to celebrate the grand opening of the Veteran and Military Student Service Center. Those interested in attending may see event details here, or see the invitation for event details.
