Customs Broker Exam Preparation provides students with the tools necessary to effectively prepare for the Customs Broker Exam. More than a basic review, these private lessons offer a thorough overview of the Customs Federal Regulations and Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States. Students can select the areas on which they would like to focus to best prepare them for the exam. A general plan of study will cover highly-tested topics found on past exams, including:

The Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the U.S. and 19 Code of Federal Regulations book is not included in the price of course and must be purchase separately at U.S. Government Bookstore. It is highly recommended that students purchase this book well in advance, as it may take 2-3 weeks to arrive.
Meet the Instructor
Kelli R. Thompson is a certified customs specialist, and a certified law enforcement instructor. As one of the country's leading experts in the area of international trade and compliance, Thompson served as Supervisory Import Specialist/Course Development Instructor at the Federal Law and Enforcement Training Center in Charleston, South Carolina, working for the United States Customs and Border Protection agency for over seven years. In this capacity, Thompson coordinated and provided nationwide trade instruction to newly hired import specialists.
Thompson recently launched Integrity International Trade Consulting (IITC), an international trade consulting company focused on training and workshops related to import compliance. Thompson's areas of expertise include all areas of customs laws and regulations, entry procedures, classification, valuation, enforcement of trade programs, record keeping requirements and related international trade processes. She also recently passed the April 2015 U.S Customs Broker Exam - an exam with a 28% passing rate - receiving an 85% score.
