The College of Charleston uses an online scholarship awarding system called the Cougar Scholarship Award System (CSAS). This new system will be how you apply for all privately funded scholarships. CSAS gives you access to all scholarships available to you through one easy application. To apply for School of Professional Studies Scholarships you will need to log on to https://cofc.academicworks.com. Students must make sure their Banner Information is updated and they have submitted FAFSA before applying. This is only for departmental and foundation awarded scholarships and does not include any state or federal funding you may have. Sue Sommer-Kresse Scholarship

Awards from the Sue Sommer-Kresse Scholarship Fund shall be restricted to full-time and part-time undergraduate students who are pursuing a course of study as a declared major of the Bachelor of Professional Studies program – or who are pre-Bachelor of Professional Studies students – and who have demonstrated financial need. The Sue Sommer-Kresse Scholarship was founded by Sue Sommer-Kresse, Ph.D., retired faculty member of the College of Charleston and current president of the Retired Faculty and Staff Council. Sommer-Kresse also serves on the School of Professional Studies Advisory Board.

Chick-fil-A Scholarship

Awards from the Chick-fil-A Scholarship shall be restricted to full-time and part-time undergraduate students who are pursuing a course of study as a declared major of the Bachelor of Professional Studies program, or who are pre-Bachelor of Professional Studies students. In addition, students must have a 3.0 GPA or higher and have demonstrated financial need. The Chick-fil-A Scholarship was founded by Daniel Dickerson, owner of the Chick-fil-A on Dorchester Road and current School of Professional Studies Advisor Board member.

School of Professional Studies General Scholarship

Awards from School of Professional Studies General Scholarship Fund shall be restricted to full-time and part-time undergraduate students who are pursuing a course of study as a declared major of the Bachelor of Professional Studies program, or who are pre-Bachelor of Professional Studies students. In addition, students must have completed 15 hours and 2 semesters in the BPS program with a 3.5 GPA or higher.

Application requirements: Students who are age 30 or older, have completed 6 or more credit hours equal and have children

Thomas A Palmer

Application requirements: Student in Generals Studies, Professional Studies and/or Project Management Certificate program and have high or some financial need

Sarah R. Cain

Application requirements: Female, Student in Generals Studies, Professional Studies and/or Project Management Certificate program

Betty A. Kinlock Adult Education Scholarship

Application requirements: Students in Generals Studies, Professional Studies and/or Project Management Certificate program

Hargrave Fund
