Dr. Alice Hamilton is a seasoned educator and performer, who currently serves as Director of the Center for Continuing and Professional Education at the College of Charleston.

Dr. Hamilton began her professional theatre career in her native Canada, performing numerous leading and supporting roles. She has since directed over 100 theatrical productions - in Canada, Japan, and the United States.

Dr. Hamilton holds a B.A. in English from the University of New Brunswick, an M.A. in Theatre Arts from the University of Idaho, and a Ph.D. in Theatre Arts from the University of Minnesota. She was appointed to full professor of Theatre and Dramatic Arts during her tenure at the University of Lethbridge, and has held academic positions at the University of Minnesota, the University of Saskatchewan, the University of New Brunswick, the University of Hawaii, Shanghai Normal University, Hokkai Gakuen University, and Hiroshima University.

Dr. Hamilton has also enjoyed a lengthy career in administration, serving as Department Head and Assistant Dean of Theatre and Dramatic Arts at the University of Lethbridge, and Program Director of the Maui Language Institute at the University of Hawaii Maui College.
